NOT TO BE DUPLICATED.
For Women's History Month, I wanted to take time out to celebrate Black women. We are not a monolith; we are all different complexions, sizes, gender presentations, interests, backgrounds, sexualities, hair colors. Across the board, we possess a certain beauty and strength that truly makes the world go 'round - and no matter how they try to steal our magic, we are Not To Be Duplicated.
"I am not to be duplicated as a Black woman because with every curl, smile, and curve, I was made to be uniquely me and to brighten up every room I enter."
"There's a certain uniqueness that Black women can add to within creative spaces. I don't think that can be duplicated. I have experiences that I can relate to with other Black women as well as an outlook on life exclusive to me. #HireMoreBlackWomenInCreativeSpaces."
"I'm unapologetically Afro-Latina."
"I am constantly changing the things I cannot accept, and learning to always move with intention."
"My resilience, ability to overachieve, and passion allow me to strive. I will never have to pretend to be a Black woman for clout, and that is indefinitely my power."
"I am not to be duplicated as a Black woman because I am unique and one of a kind. Only I will define my Blackness."
"I can't be duplicated as a Black woman because the universe put specific strengths, struggles, talents and mindsets that make me uniquely me. As a Black woman I'm like a fingerprint, perhaps sometimes similar to others, but overall my own special person."
"Black women are the creators of all humanity, we protect, support, and fight for what we deserve. Flattery is the best form of imitation, but my Blackness could never be replicated! I am unique in my making, God placed every hair on my head with intent. Blackness is not a commodity, it's CULTURE."
"I cannot be duplicated as a Black woman because my experience in life is unlike the rest."
